Yardbird Suite is now available!
My love for Charlie Parker’s music began in high school with the discovery of the Omnibook. It’s a collection of his transcribed solos and a rite of passage for any young saxophonist. Yardbird Suite was an early favorite since it was probably the only one I could play at fourteen.
With this single comes the introduction of the chord-less quartet! We’re talking Kris Tiner on trumpet, Billy Mohler on bass, and Tina Raymond on drums! We also got Chris Schlarb producing and mixing, Devin O’Brien engineering and photographing, and JJ Golden mastering.

Imagine Charlie Parker was commissioned to arrange his work for Count Basie and then that ensuing arrangement was intercepted by the Gerry Mulligan Quartet.

Kris and I locked in like vintage Bird and Diz. Tina and Billy have swing for days. The pocket is deep!
