The return of your friendly neighborhood newsletter comes with a big announcement.

I RECORDED MY SECOND LP!!!! It’s slated for release in 2023!

The album is a tribute to Charlie Parker, the greatest alto saxophonist ever and one of my biggest musical influences. There will be plenty of time to share more details, so for now I’d like to express my gratitude to Chris Schlarb for helping me craft a greater vision for this project, Devin O’Brien for engineering and capturing some beautiful photos (as seen above), and this stellar group of musicians:

Philip Glenn (fiddle)
Dave Easley (pedal steel guitar)
Anthony Shadduck (bass)
Jay Bellerose (drums)
Kris Tiner (trumpet)
Billy Mohler (bass)
Tina Raymond (drums)

Also shoutout to Doug Carter for helping me reimagine Donna Lee. I truly can’t wait to share more about this project!

Back in November, I mentioned a new GUMA album was on the horizon. It was released in February and I cannot recommend it enough! You can hear my saxophone and arranging contributions on a handful of songs. Find it on Bandcamp, Apple Music, and Spotify.

Produced by Chris Schlarb and released on BIG EGO Records.

If you like the GUMA album and want to purchase it on vinyl, consider joining the BIG EGO Record Club. In addition to A List of Sightings, you get new albums from Junatime and Izzy & the Fins (two projects from musicians I absolutely adore) plus a slew of future releases. Chris and Adriana have so lovingly built this ecosystem and your support keeps it vibrant.

Until next time!
